Scientific boundary conditions

How ICH can
fail.

A useful geometric hypothesis must forbid more than it permits. These shared constraints apply across the entire P1–P13 program.

Amplitude

The effect must remain subdominant—sub-percent to percent-level, not a dominant correction.

Scale

The signal must live on ultra-large scales. Sharp, compact or high-frequency structure is outside the hypothesis.

Evolution

The imprint is frozen. Strong intrinsic redshift evolution, sign changes or time-growing anisotropy count against it.

Dynamics

ICH preserves the background expansion, Einstein equations and standard matter conservation.

Reproducibility

A real pattern must survive independent masks, pipelines, sky regions and, where applicable, external surveys.

Controls

Node claims must remain after redshift, halo mass, host mass, density, selection, obscuration, duty cycle and gas physics are controlled.

SUPPORTIVE

A coherent family of weak residuals

Multiple independent predictions survive controls while preserving the same smooth, large-scale, topology-linked character.

NEUTRAL

No detectable residual

A null result may constrain the allowed imprint amplitude without validating the framework. Some nulls directly count against specific population claims.

IN TENSION

The signal requires forbidden behavior

Dominant amplitude, localized mass, modified expansion, strong evolution or analysis-dependent effects break the restricted ICH interpretation.

Decision rule

Named objects illustrate; populations test.

Famous quasars, clusters or dark candidates are not the statistical basis of the program. Node definitions and mass rankings must be established independently of the external catalogs used to test them.
